Help Yourself

Shop better, live better!

What does this photo inspire you?

Personally, it makes me think of the fact that the way I consume creates change to the environment and to the natural ecosystem of the Earth. And this change is not necessarily positive…

So here are some ideas on how to shop and consume better:

Don’t forget, by eating better food and doing sports, you stay healthy, so no need to spend money on medicine, health insurance and so on!

When it comes to clothes, I know this is a complicated topic for most women, so here’s an interview with Jill Chivers from

Some other websites that give ideas on “green clothing”:

Maybe this will also convince you to buy more vintage / second hand outfits:

And if you don’t like what you need in vintage shops, do a tea party with your friends and switch clothing! I got a new dress and a belt at our last broc’party (brocante = flea market)!

Can a family lead a sustainable life?

I recently got into an argument – I had to explain why I ate organic food and why I tried to lead a better life – and the conclusion of the people I was talking with is because I don’t have kids.

They were saying that when you have a family you have to spend a lot more money on food and that it’s complicated to recycle, so for them it seemed impossible to buy organic or to change the way they lived.

Most of the times I try to explain that there are solutions for everyone and at every level – but this time though I thought I would waste my time.

Instead, I did a research on blogs that are about families that live sustainable lives, because I was sure it was possible.

Here’s what I found, starting with my favorite blog:

Zero Waste Home jacket

These are just a few of the many many families that chose to live differently, of course.

Be good and be green!

Politics for Common Greater Good

Citizens don’t like politics in general. Most politics in most countries don’t care about the citizens they are meant to serve.

But even so, the thing is the two are still very much connected. Citizens are used to count on public services and politics pretend to work for the people.

Although citizens live parallel lives with the politics, they still pay taxes, which pay salaries for politicians. And what do politicians do? They fight between them for more power, they promise things during the elections, and do nothing afterwards.

From France to the US, Romania, Brazil and other countries politicians have no shame anymore – or no power in front of the all-mighty corporations.

The conclusion is that the political arena needs a drastic change worldwide. Politicians need to understand they depend on the people and people have to understand they have the power to change things for the better.

Action is critical.

So dear world, I call you to action.

I call you to dare to be honest, to care about others and the future of your countries and our world. I call you to give without expecting anything in exchange.

I call you to be old fashioned – to be nice and to have shame if you do something wrong.

I call you to involve more in your communities and to grow with them.

I call you to join a party and run for mayor or senator or president or whatever you want.
I call you to innovate in politics and make future generations proud.

Le Playground « Leadercoach essence » training – how was it

What is Le Playground? You can find their story here.

How did I meet them? Thanks to my involvement with Hera France as a mentor and to Chiara, I got the chance to know these amazing people.

I will not tell you a lot about Lourdes and Marco, because if you ever decide to contact them for a partnership/collaboration, I would like you to get the feeling I got when I met them.

So what’s “Leadercoach essence”? It’s the first step if you wish to become a personal development coach that follows the arc method, created by Lourdes and Marco.

Now back to the three days spent together:

Participants – we were a group of very different people: culture, age, work environment, so it was an unexpected chance to exchange and learn from others.

Location – colorful and bright room, just like Lourdes and Marco 🙂

Training – given the fact that the training was during a long weekend (Fri – Sun), I was quite tired and expected to be pushed to answer boring questions to a standard “multinational” training. But it was so well done, that I forgot the tiredness and the exterior world! It was practical, catchy, plus we got to work in teams and to discover one another. It wasn’t like in a class where you have to give the “right” answer in front of everyone.

The key words for me were: serenity, warmth, no judgment of others, open mind, acceptance of who I am.

“Leadercoach essence” was probably the only training at Le Playground for me, because I wanted to learn how to better work with the woman I mentor – and I got what I needed!

Sorry if I was so factual in this description, but I really don’t want to say more about this training – I DARE you to discover it yourself! You will be blown away!!!!

Lourdes, Marco, thanks again for the lovely moments spent in your company!

Traducere in romana – Partea 6 – “Manifeste convivialiste”

Partea a 5a aici.

A venit timpul pentru ultima parte a traducerii cartii “Manifeste convivialiste”!
